This is something I uploaded to Facebook, and I figured I would share it on the blog as well.

39 days.

The Lord has been and continues to be SO faithful. He continues to show up and teach me to rely on Him for my every need. The story of when Jesus called His first disciples has always blown my mind.

“As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.” Matthew 4:18-22

The newly called disciples immediately put their yes on the table. Took that first step if faith. Left comfort behind. Left their way of living behind. Left behind what they knew for Jesus.

This morning there has just been on overwhelming amount joy in my steps!
I am so excited for what the Lord has in store for Activation Route (H squad) !! My prayer has been to be where my feet are. I want to close this chapter well in order to begin the next one well!
Wanting to be where my feet are, I have tried to drag my “net” of comfort around with me. Today the Lord is teaching me to drop my net, take a step of faith, and trust Him.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105

I think about if I were to actually hold a lamp at my feet in the dark. I would only be able to see a few steps in front of me. But once I take that step I trust that the Lord will show me the next one.

Good days and bad days- God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.

One response to “Drop Your Nets.”

  1. Katelyn, This story of the disciples dropping their nets to follow Jesus has resonated with me several times lately. Mostly, because the Lord has brought so many young people across my path in recent months who have done just that: had an encounter with Jesus, turned to follow Him with their whole lives and hearts, and never looked back. Radically changed lives on fire for the One who gave His life for each of us. Hallelujah! I’m so thankful that the Lord is giving you extra measures of joy as you approach the launch of WRGY; your desires to finish this chapter well as you step into the next one is honorable. There will be more theoretical nets to drop, but it sounds like you’re prepared to follow, to walk this out with a “wherever you are, be all there” kind-of attitude. Looking forward to meeting you and praying over you at launch in just a few short week. Bless you as your feet are firmly planted right where you are today.
