I Don’t Know, But “Yes.”

Hey y’all! It has been too long! Please know that I am trying to be diligent about writing blogs more often! Life here has been so awesome! God is, without a doubt, moving here in Guatemala! Within a week, I had the honor and privilege of witnessing two sweet ladies come to Christ! I could not ask for more. The Lord continues to reveal His heart for His people to me, and it is so beautiful. The people of Guatemala are simply like no other.

I am currently learning what it really means to have my sure fire “yes” on the table for the Lord. Learning to say “yes” confidently without trying to fully figure out the ins and outs of His plan before giving an answer. Learning to give over fear and need for control to the Father. I love the really beautiful moments of sitting with my hands open in the presence of the Lord. He has taught me that saying “no” to my plan is saying “yes” to His.

Currently being on the World Race for a little over three months has been so eye opening. For those that don’t know, but might have stumbled across my blog, the World Race is a nine or eleven month mission trip. I am on the nine month trip and we are currently in Guatemala- our first of three countries. Here we are getting discipled while discipling others and spreading the love of Christ in many ways such as house visits, painting the church we partner with, teaching English, and more.

On the Race, I continue to be reminded of the story of Noah. He had such a supernatural faith. He says “yes” to the Lord without a doubt of God’s character. God asked a man living in the desert to build an ark because rain was coming. Noah was building an “I don’t know” for “I haven’t got a clue.” And in the end, his family was saved from the flood. Though he did not understand it all, his “yes” to his Father was a “yes” that I want to be able to give to my Father.

My heart is growing  for the Lord's Word and His people. My thoughts are becoming His thoughts. Though times are hard, I know for certain that I am currently in the will of the Lord, and that is beyond comforting. I would love for prayer for my team, Ahava-Selah, as we are learning to lean in to the Father when it gets hard, and choose to believe the words written in James 1:2-4. (Thank You for Your faithfulness, God.) Secondly, I would love prayer for our time left here in Guatemala. Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to some of our students after the last day of English class. Next, we will be doing other types of ministry with our host in the coming weeks, and head to debrief on January 6th.

While leaving will be hard, it being hard is a blessing. We have been so surrounded in love since stepping foot in Guatemala, and I cannot wait to come back one day soon. In January, my squad will be headed to Johannesburg, Africa. I am so looking forward to the next few months on the Race, and cannot wait to keep you updated on the journey and the times I say "yes" to the Father in the coming days.

God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.

Much love  from Guatemala,

KJ
